Christmas markets are an important part of the festivities in the Czech Republic. The impressive Prague Christmas markets light up the city, bringing locals and tourists together in a true ‘winter wonderland’ setting. Main markets are found in the Old Town Square with other smaller markets scattered around the city, open daily through December, selling traditional handicrafts – glassware, jewellery, embroidered lace, wooden toys, metalware, ceramics, scented candles, Christmas ornaments, hats, gloves and scarves, and puppets and dolls dressed in traditional costumes.
