Heat up by the Champagne Pool

In the North Island, the Champagne is a terrestrial hot spring formed by a hydrothermal eruption 900 years ago. The name comes from its abundance of flowing carbon dioxide, which causes a bubbling, similar to Champagne, and the unusual colours come from mineral deposits. The water in the pool is around 163°F—swimming is not recommended
