The Pyramids of Giza and The Great Sphinx

The Pyramids of Giza consist of the Great Pyramid of Giza, the somewhat smaller Pyramid of Khafre and the relatively modest-sized Pyramid of Menkaure a few hundred metres further south-west. The Great Pyramid of Giza is the oldest of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, and the only one to remain largely intact.  The Great Sphinx lies on the east side of the complex.

Staff Tip / Emma O'Kane

Drink lots and lots of water. If you want to save your cash avoid eye contact, conversation or accepting help with pictures or directions.  It sounds bad but you will get easily taken in and lose money fast to anyone offering assistance if you don’t follow this rule.  You don’t have to be rude but just say “La Shukran” which means “No thank you”.  Definitely worth checking off the bucket list but The Great Sphinx is smaller than you would expect.
