Join us for a summer escape to the land of ice and fire in the middle of the North Atlantic. We will take you out to see the most famous sights around the Golden Circle and the South Coast of Iceland. As a finale you will have a day and night at the Blue Lagoon for a soak in the warm healing waters.
Read Tatyana’s story about visiting the hot springs in Iceland last October with us here.
On arrival transfer to your hotel. Meet our local guide at your hotel, for best tips on what to do and see in Reykjavik and Iceland. The afternoon and evening is yours to explore this compact city. Be sure to check out the new Harpa Opera house on the harbour.
Day small group tour to the Golden Circle region. You will be picked up by small minivan (max 14 travellers) from your hotel – Þingvellir National Park, home of Iceland’s ancient Viking parliament and listed as a UNESCO’s World Heritage site will be our first stop. There you will take a walk to experience firsthand the geological phenomenon that is the Mid-Atlantic ridge.
While you are in Iceland, there is a “must do” to try all the authentic Iceland has to offer. You get the chance to visit an Icelandic dairy farm and enjoy what Icelander’s call, "Made in satin”. That means enjoying food and products which the farmers make with their own hands.
After lunch, head to the Geysir blow hole and then the Gullfoss waterfall. Then it is your chance to bathe in one of Iceland’s hot springs, the new Hvammsvík geothermal sea baths. These are luxury geothermal sea baths located in Hvalfjörður (whale fjord) and there you get the most stunning view while relaxing both mind and body. Return to Reykjavik in the late afternoon.
On this 11-12 hour Iceland South Coast small group tour (max. 10 travellers) you will be picked up from your hotel between 07:30 and 08:00. Seljalandsfoss waterfall is the first stop, with a walking trail that leads behind it. On sunny days you can see a beautiful rainbow and if you are lucky, a unicorn sliding down. Then, straight up, Skógafoss waterfall is the second stop.
Then it is time to go glacier hiking on the Sólheimajökull Glacier. Walking on a glacier with Iceland’s most powerful volcano lying underneath it is a surreal experience. On top of it you will get hot chocolate and an Icelandic pastry.
Reynisfjara or Black Sand Beach is the last stop before heading to the Viking lodge. This is where Game of thrones was filmed and this is where the troll is out in the ocean towing 3 mast ship to shore. This is where you see the famous beautiful basaltic rocks in the mountain.
Be sure to carry warm clothing, rain gear and good shoes.
After a relaxing morning in the Icelandic capital, transfer to the Blue Lagoon for a therapeutic afternoon and evening in the healing waters of the Blue Lagoon. Stay overnight at the Northern Light Inn, which is just a stone’s throw from the international airport.
After breakfast transfer to the airport.
