Beyond Machu Picchu

Machu Picchu is a truly amazing experience. Make sure you stay a night or more in Aguas Calientes, the A1:I23 nearby town at the bottom of the lost city of the Incas. It is also worth the hike up Huayna Picchu, which rises over Machu Picchu, for a spectacular view. But only 400 permits are issued each day, so make sure you organise in advance for the reasonably steep trek. You won’t be disappointed.
