The twelve week racing season culminates in the highly anticipated Broome Cup Week in August each year. The Broome Turf Club is carved out of bush land at Gantheuame Point and the race meets are a highlight of the town’s tourism calendar, where members of the multi-cultural community of Broome mingle with visitors from far and wide. The red dirt race track adds to the country race day atmosphere and if you have the opportunity to visit the members grandstand offers a first class view of the track and surrounding beaches.
If you have a passion for travelling and racing this is a must do! Country racing at it’s best in spectacular Northwest Australia. I love the laidback atmosphere and can personally recommend pairing your visit with a stay at the famous Cable Beach Club, there is nothing better than a Matso’s Ginger beer at the Sunset bar and grill to complete your day at the races!
