Every year for two weeks, Flushing Meadows-Corona Park will be the tennis capital of the world for the U.S. Open Tennis tournament. While Wimbledon has its white, New Yorkers bring the party to the National Tennis Centre with a celebrity-studded crowd, international food vendors and live musicians performing on the grounds-not to mention tennis’s top pros. Whether you’re heading to the courts during the day or for a match under the lights, check out how to score autographs from the likes of Roger Federer and Serena Williams, catch the best action and hobnob with VIP’s.
An excellent tournament and fantastic venue for tennis, sporting tragic bucket list item for sure! Highly recommend you buy a ticket to a session at Arthur Ashe Stadium which will also give you access to the smaller stadium and grounds. There really is one thing the Americans do well and that is crowds, there were no lines on the day for transport to the ground, or for beverages and food. The only lining up was waiting to virtually play tennis with Roger Federer, one of the many activities around the grounds on the day we were there.
