Like other big cities throughout the world, Barcelona celebrates in the last week before Lent. The Carnival is mainly a debauchery and gluttony feast that is held before the fast. The main events are hotdog eating contests and street parades with jugglers, bands and dancers in fabulous outfits moving to the tempo of rhythmical music.
