Cinque Terre is a string of 5 fishing villages perched on the cliffs in the Italian Riviera. It is a famous region for locally produced pesto and Limoncello. The views are breath taking with all 5 villages linked by a train network or walking trail.
Having visited Cinque Terre on two occasions I can tell you how amazing the hiking trails are between the 5 villages. Start your journey in the village of Riomaggiore where you have a breathtaking walk up to the town of Manarola, another leisurely walk to Corniglia which is the highest of the five villages perched on the cliffs above the Mediterranean. If you’re up to it the walk between Corniglia, Vernazza and Monterosso is more strenuous but is worth all the effort with amazing views of the towns and glistening Mediterranean sea.
