A giant submarine sinkhole off the coast of Belize, near the centre of Lighthouse Reef, a small atoll about 70km from the mainland. Circular in shape it is over 300 metres across and 124 metres deep. A two hour boat ride will get you to the Blue hole where you can take the plunge and dive into the darkness of the Great Blue Hole to see stalactites, marine life such as reef sharks, dolphins, flying fish and exotic birds.
