Loy Krathong

Usually held in November, literal translation: to float a basket. Festival during full moon where Thais float candles made out of banana trunks or bread, usually included in the basket is their wishes. They float lanterns up to the sky as well and it was really magical to see thousands of lanterns floating in the sky.

Staff Tip / Mervyn Leong

Celebrating this with Thai friends was really fun and we partied till early morning on a beach, with the sky dotted by lanterns. Best to be at a beach or by the river.
