In the mountains of northern Thailand, Chiang Mai’s Old City area still retains vestiges of walls and moats from its history as a cultural and religious centre dating back to the 1200’s. It’s also home to hundreds of elaborate temples.
Make sure you get a bicycle and explore the city, it is very bike friendly and easy cycling, most hotels have bicycles available free for guests.
