The Wildebeest Migration, is one of the "Seven New Wonders of the World". Nowhere else is there movement of animals as immense. Over two million animals migrate from the Serengeti National Park, Tanzania to the greener pastures of the Masai Mara National Reserve, Kenya from July through to October.
Witnessing the Wildebeest migration and watching the huge river crossing with wildebeest stampeding to get across the crocodile and hippopotamus infested waters was exciting, but to also observe two separate close encounters where lions stalked and killed the wildebeest, we could hear the lions panting is an experience I will never forget. Highly recommend taking a Hot Air Balloon ride of the Masai Mara, the thrill of floating 1000 feet above the beautiful savannah and seeing all the wildlife in their natural habitat and the chance to witness the Wildebeest migration in full swing from above followed by a Champagne breakfast cooked on the plains of the Masai Mara is surreal and breathtaking.
