Pingxi Sky Lantern Festival

Lighting paper lanterns that use heat from a candle to soar up into the sky is a tradition in Taiwan, and nowhere is it more celebrated than at the Pingxi Sky Lantern Festival. People gather and write their dreams and desires on lanterns and then release them into the sky.
