Istanbul is an enchanting city that straddles Europe and Asia across the Bosphorous Strait. It’s rich history and culture offers travellers beautiful architecture, extraordinary cultural experiences, and amazing restaurants, bars and tea gardens.
There are so many fantastic attractions to enjoy in Istanbul that you really need a good few days to explore. Major tourist attractions include, but are definitely not limited to Aya Sofya, Topkapi Palace, the Blue Mosque, the colourful and chaotic Grand Bazaar, and the underground Basilica Cistern. My favourite thing in Istanbul was the haunting sound of the muezzins “call to prayer” ringing from the minarets, that could be heard all over the city.
